چکیده

Suppose that the consumption side of a constant returns production economy is described by an excess demand function f: R’,, -+ R’ satisfying the usual properties of continuity, homogeneity of degree zero, and p. f( p) = 0 for all p. A property of central importance is the Weak Axiom of Revealed Preference (WA). The excess demand function f satisfies WA iff(p)#f(q) and q.f(p)O. It is not difficult to verify that the WA property is necessary and sufficient if we are interested in guaranteeing that the equilibrium price set be convex (hence there is a unique equilibrium in the regular case) for any production technology. This was pointed out to us years ago by H. Scarf. The sufficiency part was originally demonstrated by Wald (1951). A familiar property in applications is Gross Substitutability (GS). The excess demand function f satisfies GS if q = p + ae,, a > 0, implies f’(q)fJ(p) for all j#i (here e, is the ith unit vector). There is an extensive literature on the GS property [see Arrow and Hahn (1971, chs. 8 and 9)]. Note that, in contrast to the WA, the GS

On characterizations of the fully rational fuzzy choice functions

In the present paper, we introduce the fuzzy Nehring axiom, fuzzy Sen axiom and weaker form of the weak fuzzycongruence axiom. We establish interrelations between these axioms and their relation with fuzzy Chernoff axiom. Weexpress full rationality of a fuzzy choice function using these axioms along with the fuzzy Chernoff axiom.

The Weak Axiom of Revealed Preference for Collective Households

The purpose of this paper is to derive extensions of the weak axiom of revealed preference (warp) to collective households. We consider three different settings: the general setting, where no information on the characteristics of goods is available; the private setting, where all goods are consumed privately without externalities, and finally, the dictator setting, where each observation is ful...

Stochastic choice and fuzzy attention∗

We introduce a new choice rule that is based on the evidence that decision makers do not pay attention to all items in a menu. Nevertheless they have an underlying rational preference. The Fuzzy Attention Model (FAM) is characterized by an axiom based on revealed stochastic choice akin to the Strong Axiom of Revealed Preference (SARP). The model helps to introduce novel notions of substitutabil...

Axiom of Revealed Non-inferiority Characterize? What kind of preference maximization does the weak axiom of revealed non-inferiority characterize?

A multi-valued choice is weak justi…ed if no chosen alternative is dominated by any other obtainable alternative, and for each discarded alternative there is some chosen alternative which dominates it. This de…nition allows us to build a connection between the behavioral property expressed by the weak axiom of revealed non-inferiority and a weak notion of rationality. Our notion of rationaity i...

What kind of preference maximization does the weak axiom of revealed non-inferiority characterize?

A choice correspondence is weak justified if a non-chosen alternative is dominated by any other obtainable alternative, and for each discarded alternative there is some chosen alternative which dominates it. This definition allows us to build a connection between the behavioral property expressed by the weak axiom of revealed non-inferiority and a weak form of maximality. It is weaker than the ...
